Community Outreach
SHPE Houston holds several Community Outreach events to provide our members the unique opportunity to give back to the community. Professional Development SHPE Houston holds several Professional Development Events as part of our Professional Development Series (PDS) where professionals and students have the opportunity to hear from speakers on a series of topics (i.e. interview tips, negotiation tactics, etc.) and network with other SHPE Houston members. These events are meant to bring our members together and develop skills they can use to improve their careers. Professional Development Resources - Workshops - Socials - Boot Camps K-12 Programs and Resources (SHPE Jr.) SHPE Houston programs aim to increase student awareness, interest, self-efficacy, and self-identity with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) subjects and careers for K-12 students. We partner with High Schools and other groups to provide the youth with opportunities to participate in hand-on STEM activities. Undergraduate SHPE Houston Undergraduate programs offer support and development to increase degree persistence and attainment as well as aid undergraduates in professional development for a transition into either a STEM career or pursuit of a graduate degree.
